Commerce Services group within PayPal’s Omni Payments product organization is chartered to onboard and tens of millions of PayPal’s merchants of all scale and help them grow their businesses. We are embarking on an ambitious journey to unify Onboarding and Servicing experience for our merchants across our entities, such : PayPal, Braintree, Hyperwallet, etc.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner closely with product managers and other engineers at PayPal to craft great product experiences for users.
  • Co-develop & follow best practices related to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) & Agile methods to raise the level of automation and quality in our code repos.
  • Test your own code, deploy to PayPal’s cloud environment and monitor it.
  • Be a crafts(wo)man and encourage code craftsmanship across the team.
  • Think out of the box – don’t be afraid to innovate! Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Responsible for full software lifecycle and development of front-end systems components
  • Mentor other junior members of team.

Job Requirements:

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of related industry experience.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team to define, design, implement, test, document, release rollout and support complex software applications for PayPal.
  • Experience in JavaScript, Node.js, Java; Knowledge of Dust.js/C++preferred
  • Experience in UI frameworks like React/Backbone/Angular/etc.
  • Server side JavaScript skills, working on complicated Node applications. Being able to inject code into applications without creating major impact to the base application itself.
  • Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web. Awareness and experience with best practices for web development, accessibility, page performance etc. will be a plus.
  • Skilled at writing Unit and Automation tests, experience with frameworks like Selenium/JUnit/JMeter etc.
  • Understanding of Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, etc.
  • Strong computer science foundational knowledge in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Design Principles, SQL/NoSQL Databases, etc,
  • Strong problem solving skills and being open minded about solving a technical problem in more than one way.
  • Ability to work on different applications with quick context switching and being able to debug complicated applications with relative ease.
  • Good verbal and writing skills; ability to produce clear, concise communications and documentation.
  • Effective at working in cross-functional groups and getting results in geographically distributed matrix organizations.
