Job description: A Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Unacademy is a developer with the primary responsibility of writing frameworks and tools to test products. It is a very unique and challenging role and provides immense opportunity to design and develop wide-reaching tools. It combines the “building” aspect of software design engineering with the “breaking” aspect of software test engineering. You’ll be writing code that automatically verifies the quality of the product.

In this role, you will be creating and designing test automation for Web, iOS and Android platforms. You will be working with cross-functional teams across the company to launch best in class technical solutions for web & mobile application testing. You will work directly with Developers, Product Managers to ensure quality development and quality of our applications and platforms. You will be responsible for driving the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies.


  • 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Strong experience on web & mobile apps testing.
  • Strong QA concepts and knowledge of testing techniques.
  • Strong experience on Appium or Cypress or Testing experience on Selenium.
  • Good Experience with API testing, Rest Assured or HTTP client.
  • Basic knowledge of performance testing using Jmeter or Fiddler.
  • Basic knowledge on Databases, MongoDB, UNIX for logs checking.
