Job description: This is a remote position.

The Centre for Civil Society, a public policy think tank based in New Delhi invites applications for the position of Indian Liberals Fellow for the Indian Liberals Project. The Indian Liberals Project is an initiative of the Centre for Civil Society supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. It is an online archive of Indian Liberal works with the objective to collate, preserve and promote the research and study of liberalism in India.

Role of the Indian Liberals Fellow:

The Indian Liberal fellow will contribute in the form of well-researched articles on the Indian Liberal tradition, work on sourcing more archival content for the website as well as work under the supervision of the Project Lead for deliverables pertaining to the Project.

Responsibilities of the Fellow:

Research and source material / content on at least 6 Indian liberal thinkers during the Fellowship.

Make a database of 10 Indian Liberal works to be updated on the website.

Write at least 6 well-researched articles (2 per month) on the Indian Liberal Tradition and as well as weekly “musings” (articles based on material in the archive).

Terms of Engagement:

This Fellowship will be for a period of 3 months from 1 March 2021 – 31 May 2021, during which the above-mentioned activities are expected to be completed. The contract may be renewed on a need basis.

Remuneration

This is a part-time position and a remuneration of INR 7,000/- per month will be paid.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree (or above) in any of the Liberal Arts, Media, Public Policy or Law Courses with a strong educational background from a leading university. Masters or graduate degree preferable

Demonstrated interest in or understanding of liberal principles and concepts preferred.

A keen interest on the history of liberal tradition in India

Excellent communication skills in English and ability to create original content
